A reflowable EPUB document allows the EPUB reader to optimize the content depending on the display device. You can choose to export a document to the reflowable EPUB format. The panel works with InDesign CC or newer. Overview You can export an InDesign document to EPUB to allow your users to view the output in an EPUB reader. Thus I’ve dubbed it Universal Scrolling Frames. This is a template for making reflowable EPUBs, developed by Anne-Marie Concepcion, co-founder of and author of numerous InDesign-to-EPUB video tutorials on linkedIn Learning. Ive done this many times, but now I have two InDesign files that wont export. The scrolling frame will work in ePUB (Fixed Layout and Reflowable), HTML, DPS, Publish Online, and in5. This is the first time Ive had an issue exporting an ePub from InDesign CC. The layout had the line/title graphics grouped as one object and placed over the text, and anchored to it. See the InDesign layout image where I point out one of these. Then I went one step further and created a simple panel that will let you control scrolling with zero coding. There are three types of callout boxes with 'frames' made up of a category name in a box with an angled edge plus a line above, and a line below the information. You can make each appearance different to provide visual feedback. Chad wrote up how to manually insert this code on epubsecrets. In the exported file, the Normal appearance is used unless the mouse pointer moves into the area (Rollover) or the mouse button is clicked on the button area (Click). I worked with Chad Chelius to refine the CSS that would support scrolling frames in ePUB and Publish Online. Use the Selection tool to select the text frame that begins with Shauneen H. In looking for ways for add this interactivity for all formats, I heard from many people that scrolling frames were a high priority. While this extra interactivity was supported by DPS, as well as our tool- in5 (InDesign to HTML5)-it’s not supported by InDesign’s native export formats: ePUB, HTML, and Publish Online. Drop caps, Run-in style, Line style, and GREP style applied as style overrides are ignored. The old DPS/AEM Mobile (Folio) Overlays panel adds several additional options, such as scrolling frames. When I export to reflowable ePub (using the standard ePub 2.0.1 settings), I get the following errors: Inline objects like text frames, groups etc. Adobe InDesign is full of wonderful interactive capabilities.
